Favorite Resources

Hand in Hand Parenting is one of my favorite resources for parents...

Magdan Gerber and her perspective on infants inspires me to no end...

Parenting From the Inside Out is a phenomenal book that connects neuroscience to children's behavior. It is one of my bibles. I am very grateful to Siegel and Hartzell for writing this wonderful resource. I am also excited about Siegel's new book about the teenage brain, though I haven't read it yet. Here is a link to Dr. Siegel's webpage and to Parenting From the Inside Out...

Dr. Jack Newman is one of my constant go-to resources when it comes to breastfeeding issues. His videos are particularly helpful to moms struggling with breastfeeding who are having trouble understanding a proper latch from pictures in a book...

Dr. James McKenna is another regular resource of mine. He has studied infant-parent co-sleeping and provides safe guidelines for the practice...

I hope that you find these resources helpful!

  1. Hi Lauren, thank you for sharing some of your favorite resources. The Hand in Hand Parenting is such a great resource for parents. It talks about topics that are so practical, meaningful and relevant that I am sure all parents can relate to. I also like how they offer so many resources such as; books, podcasts, support groups, on-line classes, in-person classes as well as private consultations.

I also like how you included resources for infants and infant development. Parents always have so many questions so they resources will be very helpful. We have students who do their placements with infants, so these resources will be helpful, especially when parents pose questions to them.

Thank you for adding to my resources this week! I am going to be so smart after all this reading!!

    Take care,
    Stephanie

  2. Lauren,
I am so interested in the Hand in Hand Parenting method. It's not something I've ever read about before and you've talked so highly of it that I can't resist going through the website! This week provided us with SO many different resources to filter through. If we make it past this week we can probably do anything!
